My passion has always been photography, and antique photos are no exception. Years ago, I photographed my mom and uncle in front of the house in New Jersey that they grew up in. When I saw it alongside a photograph taken 85 years earlier of my grandmother, then a little girl, in that same spot... the power of photography to preserve a moment and stop time hit me like a ton of bricks.
I have been collecting old images ever since—Cambria, Cayucos, Los Osos/Baywood Park, San Luis Obispo and the south county and more. Often, these images come with stories. One of my favorites is how contractors who built the bar, gas station and market in Baywood decided to build the bar first. That way when they were done after a long day of construction, they had a place to go to after work and wind down.
I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.
Because there is such a huge array of options for printing and mounting images, for the online store, I currently offer one size with two mounting options. The Plaque is mounted on a 3/8” mount, edges are beveled and the image is covered with a laminate for protection from UV and scrapes. The Box is the same but on a 3/4” mount. Both have a cleat on back for mounting on the wall and ship with mounting hardware.
If you see an image(s) but would like a different size or mounting option, please call the studio, and I can help you choose the right size and mounting for your needs.
